Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at stephanie@thymeandcare.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

My cooking style is focused on using fresh, seasonal ingredients, local if possible to create meals you are excited to enjoy . I draw inspiration from a variety of cuisines and techniques to create unique and delicious dishes.

Thyme and Care typically services within a 20mile radius of its headquarters located in Perkasie Pa.

Including: Bucks County (Perkasie, Sellersville, Doylestown, Quakertown, Dublin, Chalfont, New Hope, Solebury, Buckingham), Montgomery County (Lansdale, Harleysville, Souderton, Hatfield, Skippack), Lehigh County (Coopersburg), Northampton County (near Hellertown)

Services outside of this radius are subject to travel fees.

Absolutely! It would be my honor to create a menu that you feel safe to enjoy. Allergies are a serious concern and one of the reasons I chose to cook in my clients homes. Cross contamination has a much lower risk when cooked in an environment that isn't preparing meals that may be of concern, like in a commercial kitchen. Please let me know your specific needs and I will work with you to create safe and delicious meals.

That's right, in your kitchen is where the culinary magic happens! No need for a fancy showroom kitchen, either. Your menu will be designed to fit your needs and space.

No deep cleaning required! However,  a clean environment and counter top for sanitation and safety purposes is a must. I promise, I am not white glove checking baseboards!

If you're ok with that, so am I. Truthfully, I can work more efficiently if I am not focused on children and other family members that keep coming in the kitchen space.  I don't want to interrupt your quality family time. Alternatively, you can be at home while I cook, as long as I can be in the space (mostly) uninterrupted, if that is what you need. I have clients both, that work from home and others have disabilities so they are on site but not in the kitchen during service.

You sure are. All of our menus can be customized to fit your lifestyle.  After a brief conversation I can design meals for you and your keto lifestyle.  I have a diverse culinary background to pull inspirations from.

We can talk about your needs and reservations. I am happy to customize and prepare meals for you that are safe and delicious.    I have a diverse culinary background to pull inspirations from.

Congratulations, on taking steps to be healthier.

While I love cooking and I want you to be healthy,  I am not a health coach, nutritionist,  or dietitian.  I wouldn't know where to start to advise you on that part of your journey.  I am happy to connect you with qualified people in those areas that may be able to help. I will be happy to prepare meals for you throughout your health journey.

All of the standard appliances need to be in working order. Having the smallware (pots, pans, bowls, utensils) is very helpful and are highly recommended if you have allergies or restrictions.  I do offer rental of equipment if needed. We can talk about that when we do your kitchen assessment.

A conversation that lets me understand what your space is like. The size and type of the kitchen you have and type of appliances/ kitchen wares you have or need.  This  can be done in person if you or virtually depending on where you are located and schedules.

I love pets, friendly, loveable ones are my favorite. I do ask that they are not in the kitchen while cooking. I would hate to spill something hot on them, trip over them, or have them grab food off the counters. I don’t mind animals in the house just not in the kitchen and will happily say hello and good bye to them.

Possibly.  Before we set the menu we can talk about what ingredients you have on hand and what you need.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking for initial services to secure the initial service date.

In the event of emergency or illness, the deposit may be transferred (once) to another date mutually agreed upon.

The remaining balance is due within 24 hours of service by the Chef. Failure to pay may result in suspension of future services until payment is received along with a 10% late fee accrued weekly. A full upfront payment may also be required for future services.

Thyme and Care prefers cash, check, or Zelle.  We do accept credit card payment (with a processing fee) and hold a credit card on file for incidentals.

We require cancellations to be made at least 72 hours prior to service. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to scheduled service will be subject to full payment of the agreed-upon service.

The short answer is... to make Thyme and Care an accessible service to those that need. I wanted to create a fair pricing model.

The longer answer is; there are a lot of variables in food sourcing. People buy full animals and have them butchered and frozen,  others have a CSA membership, some grow their own food. Others don't care about organic, while some do,  or can't afford fancy brands, and more. In my heart it wasn't right for me to charge a  flat rate. If someone already has usable meat in their freezer but does not have time to cook it, I can still help them. It would not be fair to charge them a second time for the groceries they already have. Additionally the grocery industry is in flux right now with its own variables. This was a way to create fair pricing all year long.

Well, I love that you want them to learn. Let's have a conversation about that, based on their age, ability,  and what you want them to learn. I have done hands on children's series in the past.
